The opening title of “Harry Potter, the Musical”

There is a reason I am posting this today, June 19th, 2011. Two years ago today that StarKidPotter had created their YouTube account. 

Let’s start at the beginning of this two year journey. Anyone remember Harry Potter, the Musical? 

Remember when they had to take down those videos because they didn’t want to get sued? Remember that feeling you had when you saw Harry and Draco Toby and Tanya during LWL? Remember when they re-uploaded the videos as AVPM during the first week of July? Remember watching MAMD? Remember watching AVPS? Remember the announcement that Darren would be on Glee?

Then it’s suddenly 2011 and the entire StarKid cast and crew take a huge leap and do Starship, an original musical outside of their university environment. Meanwhile Darren gains more recognition as the weeks go by. 

It’s “unfathomomomable” how their success so far has happened in a span of two years. Two years ago, a bunch of friends put on a musical for fun and two years later they’re performing, whether it’s on stage or television. And none of them have changed. We still see the StarKids making sexual innuendos, talking about cartoons and books, making fun of each other, swearing and generally being goofballs. This is why I admire and love them so much. They inspire me to be me and to have fun.

I don’t know you or if you’re a StarKid or if you had the same journey as I did. However, I do know that Team StarKid is amazing. I’m so glad they are a part of my life.
